Van Trang claims 2nd overall in 42km women's trail at Y Ti Gold Season 2026, surpasses male runners through endurance

The Y Ti Gold Season 2026 trail run (September 6) witnessed one of the most memorable moments in the history of Vietnamese trail running. Overcoming steep paths with over 1,300 meters of cumulative elevation gain, female runner Van Trang – nicknamed Jang Doll – claimed the top spot in the 42km women's category. More remarkably, the mother of four who was born in 2026 took the overall 2nd place in the entire event, surpassing nearly all male runners by finishing in 4 hours 26 minutes, losing by only one competitor. This was not just a victory on Lảo Thẩn peak at 2,860 meters above sea level, but a living testament to the extraordinary endurance of a woman who has been raising four children and managing family responsibilities.
